Straight answers to what people actually ask before booking.
How do you get from Antalya to Cappadocia on a tour?
The standard route is by overnight coach — a comfortable air-conditioned bus that departs from your hotel between 19:00 and 21:00, drives through the night, and arrives in Cappadocia around 06:00–07:00. The 2-day format means you spend a full day sightseeing and return by overnight coach the following evening. A 1-day option by domestic flight from Antalya Airport is also available — faster travel but a shorter time on the ground.
Is the hot air balloon included in the tour price?
No — the hot air balloon is an optional supplement priced at approximately €150–200 per person, depending on the operator and season. It is not included in the standard tour price. If you want the balloon, book it at the same time as your main tour — slots fill up months in advance in spring and autumn. Balloon flights operate subject to wind conditions; weather cancellations receive a full refund.
What is included in a 2-day Cappadocia tour from Antalya?
Standard 2-day tours include hotel pickup and drop-off in Antalya, overnight coach transport (both directions), one night accommodation in Göreme or Ürgüp (cave hotel or 3-star), dinner on Day 1, breakfast on Day 2, a licensed English-speaking guide, Göreme Open Air Museum entry, Kaymakli Underground City entry and an Avanos pottery workshop visit. The hot air balloon, Cleopatra's Pool-equivalent and personal spending are not included.
Is hotel pickup available from Belek, Side and Alanya?
Yes — hotel pickup is available from all major resort areas including Antalya city, Belek, Side, Kemer and Alanya. Guests from Alanya and Side are typically picked up first as they are further from the main Antalya departure point. Confirm your hotel name when booking and the pickup time will be arranged. The overnight coach consolidates all resort pickups before heading north to Cappadocia.
Is the 2-day Cappadocia tour worth it from Antalya?
Yes — if you have not been to Cappadocia, it is worth it. The landscape is genuinely unlike anywhere else in Turkey or the Mediterranean. The overnight coach is long but most travellers sleep through it and arrive ready for the day. If you only have one opportunity to visit Cappadocia during your trip, the 2-day format gives you enough time to see the key sites. If the balloon is important to you, consider the 3-day format — it allows a morning balloon and a full day of sightseeing without rushing.
What is the best time of year for a Cappadocia tour?
April–June and September–November offer the best combination of pleasant temperatures (10–23°C), good balloon flying conditions and manageable crowds. July and August are hot (27°C+) and very busy — the balloon queues are longest in peak summer. January and February bring snow, which can be dramatic and beautiful but limits outdoor valley walking. The site itself is open year-round. See our
Cappadocia travel guide for a full seasonal breakdown.
Can children join a Cappadocia tour from Antalya?
Yes — the sightseeing programme is suitable for children. Göreme Open Air Museum, the valley walks and Avanos pottery are all family-friendly. The underground city (Kaymakli) involves low, narrow passages — suitable for children over 6 but may be uncomfortable for those with claustrophobia. The overnight coach is manageable for older children. Hot air balloons typically have a minimum age of 6 and a minimum height of 120cm — confirm at booking.
